05 — Who This Is For

    Built for men whose gym
    work isn't reaching the game.

If any of these sound like you, you're in the right place.

    01

You lift, but it doesn't transfer

Your gym numbers go up but your game doesn't. You're stronger in the rack than you are on the court or field.

    02

You feel a step slower than you used to

The first step isn't as sharp. You can't repeat hard efforts the way you could even two or three years ago.

    03

You're sore for days after you play

Stiffness lingers. Recovery takes longer than it should. Your body isn't bouncing back the way it used to.

    04

You still play — and you still want to win

You're not here for aesthetics. You want to perform, compete, and hold your own against younger players for as long as you play.

“Most guys who play sport train like bodybuilders and wonder why the gym isn't helping their game. The problem isn't effort — it's that nobody ever showed them what athletic training actually looks like.”

    — Chris Jennings, Rep Basketball Coach & Sports Performance Coach

    06 — Why This Exists

    I built this because
    nothing else worked on me.

    The problem nobody could solve

I grew up playing cricket, soccer, basketball and athletics — 100 and 200 metres. I also grew up with hip and lower back pain that nobody could explain.

Physios, chiros, podiatrists. Nothing helped. By twenty I was down to one training session a week instead of two, because my back and hips couldn't handle a session and a game in the same week. Somewhere in there I fractured the sesamoid bones in my feet two or three times, and nobody could tell me why.

I'd been in the gym since I was thirteen, training the way I thought you were supposed to — like a bodybuilder. I was getting stronger inside the gym. Outside it, nothing was improving.

Early thirties, I started playing basketball again. Within months I had osteitis pubis and I couldn't run at all.

The thing that finally explained it

The sports doctor sent me for an MRI. It showed significant damage to my hip joint, caused by shallow hip sockets — something I'd had my whole life and never known about.

He referred me to a physio who introduced me to contralateral work, and to the idea that one side of your lower body connects to the opposite side of your upper body. I know them now as the lateral and spiral slings. At the time, they just explained twenty years of pain.

Your feet have to be strong, because they are your connection to the ground. Your hips have to be strong, because they are what connects your lower body to your upper. And your feet and hips have to work together, or you lose everything between the moment your foot hits the floor and the movement you're trying to make.

Eight weeks into a targeted program, I was back playing basketball.

    Building the method

Then my right knee went. Tendinitis. It hurt to run, it hurt to jump, and it stopped me lifting.

I decided I was too young to give basketball away, so I built a protocol for it. Then another program on top of that one, and another on top of that — each slightly harder and more complex than the last. Small continuous improvements, one layer at a time.

Three months in, the knee pain had dropped off a cliff. Eight months in, I was running and playing with no knee pain and no hip issues.

Today I train legs several times a week and play basketball with no pain at all — with shallow hip sockets and twenty-five years of history that said I shouldn't be able to.

That progression is The Jennings Method. It isn't a theory I read. It's what I built to get myself back on the court.

One thing I should be straight about

This is my story, not a promise. I'm a strength and conditioning coach — not a physiotherapist and not a doctor. I don't diagnose or treat injuries and I won't pretend to.

What I do is build training that makes you more durable and more athletic. If something is actually injured, my first job is to tell you to go and see someone qualified to look at it. My own turning point started with an MRI and a good physio, and I'd want the same for you.

    07 — The Process

    One outcome: you perform.

    On the floor right now

I'm a current head coach in a junior representative basketball program. Not retired from the game, not coaching from a textbook — I'm at training every week watching what transfers to the court and what doesn't.

    29 years under the bar

I've been training since I was a teenager. Long enough to have made most of the mistakes myself, including the years I trained like a bodybuilder and wondered why it wasn't showing up when I played.

    Sport-first philosophy

The gym serves the game, not the other way around. Every exercise I program earns its place by what it does on the court or field.

New method, not a new coach

The Jennings Method is new — two clients through the full 12 weeks, neither of whom plays competitively, so I won't pretend their results predict yours. What isn't new is the coaching, or the 29 years I've spent solving this problem on myself. I'd rather tell you that than have you find out.

    09 — The Honest Version

    No wall of fake /
    screenshots.

You've seen the pages. Sixty five-star reviews, a grid of DM screenshots, numbers nobody can check. So have I.

The Jennings Method is new. I've coached two clients through the full 12 weeks, and neither of them plays competitively — so their results genuinely can't tell you what yours would be, and I'm not going to dress them up as something they're not.

Which leaves me three honest things to show you. Here they are.

    10 — I took my own test

Here's my score. Including the bit I'd rather hide.

    Athletic Age

    Strength92%
    Mobility92%
    Power100%

    Strength

Same twelve questions you just answered. Same scoring. I didn't give myself a better one.

Strength is where I came up shortest — right now I'm working on building a base of single-leg strength (split squats and step-ups) so my legs hold position late in the game.

    11 — The founding intake

    Eight people. Published results.

Eight is a hard cap and it isn't a marketing device. Every program is written personally, I coach every client myself, and I'm still coaching a junior rep program. Nine would mean someone gets a template, and the whole point is that nobody does.

Here's the deal I'm offering instead of testimonials I haven't earned: I'll publish this intake's Week 1 baselines and Week 12 re-tests as they happen — the ones that move and the ones that don't. In twelve weeks you'll be able to judge me on data instead of adjectives. Right now you can't, and I'd rather say so.

There's no lock-in either. You can stop at any time — you pay for the stage you're in and nothing more. I'd rather earn the next twelve weeks than trap you in them.
